Biography

Wai Tong received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), where he also received his B.Eng. degree in 2018. His research interests lie in the area of VR/AR, data visualization, and human-computer interaction. Specifically, he focuses on exploring novel ideas to combine the benefits of traditional workflows (e.g., using personal computers for visual analysis) and AR/VR technology for effective data exploration and storytelling. He published several papers at ACM CHI, IEEE VIS, IEEE VR, and IEEE PacificVis and received an honorable mention award at IEEE VIS 2022.
