Minor in Performance Studies
The minor in Performance Studies gives you the opportunity to apply the methods of performance studies and the practice of performance to your other academic and artistic interests. Through this minor, you will cultivate an analytical perspective about the role and meaning of performance in global culture that will contribute to your academic development, creative practices, and professional success.
The minor in Performance Studies consists of 18 semester credit hours. It can fit easily with a variety of degree plans. The minor consists of:
- One required course (PERF 101 — Introduction to Performance Studies)
- A choice of a seminar
- Four electives
Because Performance Studies combines theory and practice, our courses combine scholarly research and creative performance. You will select seminars and electives that engage with your own particular academic and artistic interests. In addition to being introduced to the theory of the discipline, you will analyze and create live performance in your classes.
