Patrick Sullivan

Patrick Sullivan is an Assistant Professor of Performance and Visual Studies. He is also faculty for the Film and Media studies program and Visualization program. Sullivan is the author of “Stay Tuned: Listening to the Network Era” (Rutgers University Press, 2026). He is working on two books.

Sullivan’s articles and reviews appear in animation: an interdisciplinary journal, Arthurian, Invisible Culture, [in]Transition, and Film Quarterly. His research and teaching have been supported by the Hagley Museum, The Wittliff Collections at Texas State University, Glasscock Center for Humanities Research at Texas A&M, Public Humanities Fellowship from Humanities New York, the Susan B. Anthony Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at University of Rochester, The International Animated Film Society, National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Since 2023, he serves as reviews editor for animation: an interdisciplinary journal, and locally, he is on the board of the Queen’s Film Society.
