Alexandra Pooley
Assistant ProfessorBiography
Alexandra Pooley-Detwiler was born and raised in Cornwall, United Kingdom. She was classically trained under Terence Etheridge and performed in several of his classical ballet productions such as Swan Lake. In the 2005 Dance College of Cornwall Awards for Choreography, she received third place for her work on a contemporary dance duet.
She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master’s of Fine Arts degree in Dance Science at the world-renowned Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. Alexandra has since performed in many venues across London as well as performing in several short films.
Alexandra has a scientific approach to teaching, using her research on both fitness as well as lifestyle implications to improve the technique, stamina, and mentality of her students in order to equip them with quality tools and knowledge which they can apply in achieving their goals.
