Research Travel Scholarships
Undergraduate or graduate students within the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts who are presenting research throughout the state, region, nation and/or abroad are eligible. The research presentation should be submitted or accepted prior to application submission.
Awarded funds will only become available once presentation acceptance has been confirmed. Funds may be used for airfare, hotel, registration fees, and/or transportation to and from the airport/hotel.
A self-reflective essay must be submitted to the Scholarship Committee after the travel has concluded. Essays are due no later than four weeks from the last day of travel. Essays can be submitted to johnabinajm@tamu.edu. Essays should be no less than two full pages typed, and follow an APA or MLA style of format. Essays should be about what the learning outcome was for you and how you benefited from this research travel.
Requirements
Minimum GPR
- Undergraduate Student: 3.0
- Graduate Student: 3.5
Full-time student in the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts
- Enrolled in 12 credit hours for undergraduate students (9 credit hours for graduate students) at Texas A&M University and declared major in the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts
- Graduate Students: Enrolled in 9 credit hours at Texas A&M University and declared major in the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts
Steps to Apply and Application Deadline
Complete an application for Academic School Year 2023-2024 (Fall 2023/Spring 2024) and submit it along with other criteria as noted below.
Current Texas A&M College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts students should complete the travel application and return it along with your cover letter, resume, budget including additional funding sources, proof of acceptance into a conference, performance or other purposes for the trip.
Deadline for this scholarship is ongoing and will be accepted throughout the academic year. Please submit all criteria in one email to johnabinajm@tamu.edu. Please note in the subject line your full name and the name of the scholarship you are applying for. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Notification will occur within 3-4 weeks upon receiving your application.
