Lamar University

Details: In partnership with Aimed Dance, Lamar University Department of Theatre and Dance is offering a tuition and housing scholarship to attend Aimed Dance Summer Fest 24. ADSF 24 offers three weekends of concerts and two weeks of classes in one contemporary dance festival held at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

Criteria: Students will select the week to attend based on their age. Students will be responsible for travel to and from the festival and meals. 

Curriculum: Four classes a day in ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, improvisation, somatic practices, dance composition and more. Students will engage in either a choreography lab or performance lab and take the stage in the Festival Concert series to end the week. 

Lindenwood University

Scholarship Type: College/University. Lindenwood University will also grant admission to select students for our BFA program.

Details: Partial Tuition (3) $3,000 Fine and Performing Arts Scholarships renewable annually for four years during the course of study. Each $3,000 scholarship will cover partial tuition during the prospective student’s four years of study toward a BA or BFA degree in Dance. Students are also eligible for academic scholarships. Awards are exclusively available to selected students who have submitted fully completed university admissions applications and who state their intention to major in Dance on their university application (BA/BFA).

Lindenwood University will also grant admission to select students for our BFA program. Interested students should complete our Audition Information Page (https://www.lindenwood.edu/arts-and-humanities/performing-arts/dance-ba-bfa/audition/) and communicate with Professor Tricia Zweier (tzweier@lindenwood.edu) before the festival.

Criteria: Awards are exclusively available to selected students who have submitted fully completed university admissions applications and who state their intention to major in Dance on their university application (BA/BFA). Entrance into the Fall 2024/Spring 2025/Fall 2025 BA or BFA in Dance.

Curriculum: Curriculum includes: contemporary; ballet; jazz; tap; dance history; dance and technology; dance anatomy and kinesiology; theory and composition; performance and composition practicum; technical theatre; pedagogy; dance studio management; internships. Optional courses include hip-hop, pointe, improvisation, partnering, acting and others.

Details: Summer: This scholarship will cover the full cost (tuition, housing, meals, etc) of attending our summer intensive taking place June 16-22, 2024.
College/University: High school seniors who have already applied to Texas A&M University for admission may use this as their audition for our Dance Science program if they are wanting to pursue the BS in Dance Sciencechoreography minor or dance performance minor.  

Criteria: Summer: Dancers must be aged 15 or older on or before June 16, 2024, to participate in our 2024 summer intensive.
College/University: High school seniors must have already applied to Texas A&M University for Fall 2024 admission. 

Curriculum: Summer: Our summer intensive gives an opportunity for high school students to see what a week in the life of a dance program student is like. Dancers will take classes in dance science, Pilates, ballet, modern and varying other styles. Rising high school seniors can also use the summer intensive as their dance program audition for the Fall 2025 school year.

Curriculum: The Texas Tech University Dance program provides its students with a rigorous yet accessible curriculum, opportunities for engagement with dance in a variety of contexts, and a supportive, student-centered learning environment. By integrating the practical and the theoretical, the program serves as a vital force in the cultural and intellectual life of our society. The program offers a Bachelor of Arts in Dance (requires minor), a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a focus of performance and choreography, a dance minor, and an online Master of Arts in Dance Studies. Curriculum includes ballet; jazz; contemporary; hip-hop; tap; musical theatre dance; dance history; dance anatomy and kinesiology; theory and writing; pedagogy; improvisation; choreography; music for dance; theatrical design; and performance and choreography opportunities each semester. The university is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD).

University of Central Oklahoma

Scholarship Type: College/University

Details: $3,000 total scholarship: $1,000 is a cash scholarship that can cover anything in your bursar account (tuition, fees, books, housing); $2,000 is a tuition waiver that will go toward the tuition portion only. 

Criteria: This is a talent-based award for a nonresident student. Terms of the award are: 
1. Enroll and participate as a declared full-time dance major during every semester you receive the tuition waiver.   
2. Maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and receive a C or better in all dance major course work. If your GPA falls below a 2.5 you will not be granted a tuition waiver the following semester. You are permitted to reapply for a tuition waiver once your cumulative GPA is above 2.5. 
3. Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester. If you do not complete 12 hours each semester, your tuition waiver will be revoked in the following semester.  
4. Meet all of the expectations for dance majors outlined in the Department of Dance handbook.  

Curriculum: The UCO Department of Dance currently houses three degree programs: the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, the Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education and the Bachelor of Arts in Arts Administration. The UCO Department of Dance degree programs emphasize balanced studies in ballet, modern and jazz dance, with additional studies in aerial dance, hip-hop, world dance forms and dance film. Our program is open to students of all body types, backgrounds and levels of dance experience. Our multiple degree options provide a space for students to pursue individual career paths, understanding that the field of dance has many facets of study.
