BIOGRAPHY
Cheryl Williams joined the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts in February 2025 and serves as senior administrative coordinator II and assistant to Ann McNamara, Ph.D., interim associate dean for faculty affairs. Prior to this role, she also supported Jim Ball, Ph.D., associate dean for industry and community engagement, within the college.
Williams was the senior administrative coordinator at Mays Business School, where she supported the associate dean for undergraduate programs, Shannon Deer, Ph.D., beginning in September 2022, and the associate dean for research, Duane Ireland, Ph.D., from March 2019 to September 2022.
Williams’ career at Texas A&M University began in March 2000 in the Department of Mathematics as a conference coordinator. In March 2001, she transitioned to assistant to the department head. After moving to Texarkana in 2006, Williams returned to Texas A&M in 2008 as administrative coordinator/office manager for the Department of Mathematics. She has extensive experience in scheduling classrooms, faculty affairs, assessments, conference coordination, accounts receivable/payable, customer service, promotion and tenure processes, department HR liaison work, biweekly payroll, faculty hiring and website creation and editing with Linux and HTML.
In addition to her administrative work, Williams has been involved in several community initiatives. She helped organize the Lucky B Bison Festival, which raised funds to endow the first Texas A&M Foundation Excellence Award for a Native American student. She also coordinates the Backing the Badge event, which supports first responders in Brazos County and surrounding areas. Cheryl is a board member of Operation Safe Shield, an initiative raising funds to provide bulletproof windshields for local law enforcement, including Texas A&M.
