Education Through the Arts

The College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts is the home of the visual and performing arts at Texas A&M University. At the foundation of the college’s academic programs is an interdisciplinary approach to exploring where art, science, technology and theory combine through dance, music, theatre, visual art and design.

Certificate

The college offers a graduate certificate in Film and Media Studies. This is an interdisciplinary concentration in the study of film and other visual- and sound-based media that will enhance students’ major field of study.

Programs

The Dance program educates students in the art and science of dance. We offer a personalized approach to dance training through hands-on, field-based experiences including technical production, dance science research and Pilates.

We examine the role and meaning of artistic and creative practices, including art history, anthropology, cultural and media studies, musicology, performance and theatre studies.

With a focus on making new and original works through devised theatre, our program allows students to combine courses in performance, production and arts administration. Students will build new creations ready for public performance, guided by skilled artists.

The Visualization program trains technical artists to work on the collaborative teams necessary to make modern visualizations. Marked for its experimental and precise approach to design, our curriculum produces leaders in fields where art and science merge.
