This area of distinction explores how dance, theatre, voice, and live performance intersect with cultural identity, wellness, improvisation, activism and social commentary. Research and creative works created by faculty in this distinction use the body as a site of memory, resistance and collaboration. Faculty produce research and work related to dance science, devised theatre, vocal health, site-specific performance, identity, mindfulness, storytelling, improvisation and social justice.
