Biography
Xin Li received his B.Eng. in Computer Science from University of Science and Technology of China in 2003, and Ph.D. in Computer Science from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2008. Before joining TAMU, he was a professor of Computer Engineering in Louisiana State University (LSU) from 2008 to 2022. His research interests include visual computing, AI-assisted visual data modeling, processing and analysis, and their applications in computer graphics, vision, VR, robotics, and scientific computing. He has published over 120 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He serves as associate editors for multiple international journals such as Computer-aided Design (CAD), Journal of Computer Science and Technology (JCST), AAAS Research (a Science Partner Journal). He received IBM Faculty Award in 2011, International Solid Modeling Association Young Investigator Award in 2020, LSU Flagship Faculty award in 2010, and LSU Oskar R. Menton Professorship of Electrical Engineering in 2013. Dr. Xin Li is an IEEE senior member.
