Dave Maldonado, an actor who has more than 25 years of credits in film and TV — including Ryan Coogler’s recent hit “Sinners” — visited with Texas A&M College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts students on Sept. 15 in the Black Box in the Liberal Arts and Arts and Humanities Building.

In an “Inside the Actors Studio”-style Q&A session, led by Mayet Andreassen, M.F.A., instructional associate professor in Visualization, Maldonado discussed what it was like to be an actor in Texas, how he handles conflicts on set, what his research process is like and how to work with an agent. He offered advice to students about adapting to roles and taking chances when opportunities arise.

Maldonado, who is the father of two Aggies, also shared personal stories about his working interactions with Matthew McConaughey, Tom Hanks, Chris Pratt and Michael B. Jordan.
