BIOGRAPHY

Wai Tong completed his Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2023. His research interests include data visualization, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and human-computer interaction. He specifically focuses on exploring innovative ways to integrate the advantages of non-immersive technologies (such as PCs) with immersive technologies (like AR and VR) to enhance data exploration, storytelling and education. He has published several papers in top-tier conferences, including ACM CHI and IEEE VIS, as well as in journals such as IEEE TVCG. He also received honorable mention awards at IEEE VIS 2022 and IEEE VR 2025.
