BIOGRAPHY

Amanda “Jill” Honeycutt, instructional associate professor at Texas A&M University, holds a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from East Texas A&M University. She joined the Texas A&M faculty in 2016 and brings 14 years of professional experience in design methodologies, with a distinct focus on tactile problem-solving in design education. Her industry background informs her teaching, enabling her to foster critical thinking and hands-on learning in the classroom.

As the lead faculty member for graphic design within the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts, Honeycutt has significantly impacted the design curriculum and students’ educational experience. Honeycutt spearheaded two new minors — Graphic Design and Studio Art — which she oversees in her senior associate program director role. Additionally, Honeycutt coordinates student exhibitions, manages prospective students and oversees all students in the art minor programs.

In 2024, she received the Outstanding Service Collegial Commitment Award from the college, and in Spring 2025 she completed the University-Level APT to Lead Program. Honeycutt served as an elected co-chair of the APT Task Force within the college. Her teaching excellence, innovative curriculum design and deep care for her students make her a transformative and influential educator in the design field.
