‘Japanese Tales of the Supernatural’

“Japanese Tales of the Supernatural” features stories sung and played by Yoko Hiraoka on the biwa (Japanese plucked lute), to include the classical works Hagoromo and Yugao. Hiraoka will present a lecture/performance using projected images in which she plays biwa and discusses the place of the supernatural in biwa storytelling from ancient times.
