Reception for Emilie Duval, ‘In Digital Elysium: Architectures of a New Reality’

Opening reception Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and on display Monday through Jan. 15 at Wright Gallery in the Langford Architecture Center, Building A.

Born in Paris, Duval is a French American multidisciplinary artist based in Houston. Duval’s abstractions of mid-century architecture are layered with fragmented perspectives that blur the boundaries between what’s real and virtual. In painting, sculpture and animation, she explores tension between physical and digital entities in her scenes of abstracted mid-century modern architecture and bright landscapes with mountains and palm trees.
