‘Artists of the Vanishing West: A Conversation with Chuck Pinnell’

Musician, composer and writer Chuck Pinnell will discuss his career as an artist in music, film and fiction portraying Texas and the larger American West. As composer for his brother Eagle’s legendary indie films — “The Whole Shootin’ Match” and “Last Night at the Alamo” — and for other motion pictures, he’s provided a soundtrack as vast as the Texas landscape during an unprecedented era of turbulent modernization. As a novelist, Pinnell has begun a chronicle of the life and times of an Irish immigrant who came to be known as Billy the Kid.
