The College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts<\/a> recently recognized 14 faculty and staff members for their contributions in teaching, service, innovation, teamwork and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Faculty and staff were nominated by fellow members of the college, and winners were selected by the deans. Each honor came with a $2,000 award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dean Tim McLaughlin<\/a> acknowledged all faculty and staff for their contributions to the college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe thoughtfully put together these awards in a way that we felt would elevate the values that we have, and the things we find are important in the college,\u201d McLaughlin said. \u201cWe want to celebrate those traits, initiatives and behaviors, and celebrate the people who exhibit them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mayet Andreassen<\/a>, instructional assistant professor and associate program director for the Bachelor of Science degree in Visualization<\/a>, received the 2024 Association of Former Students College Level Distinguished Achievement Award. Kyle Easley, director of campus programs for the association, presented Andreassen\u2019s award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Association of Former Students<\/a> honors outstanding faculty members each fall with this award for their dedication to teaching and their talent, expertise and devotion in conveying knowledge to students. Recipients also get a $2,000 stipend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt really meant a lot that students and alumni felt I should win this award,\u201d she said when the award was announced<\/a> earlier in the semester. \u201cI am sure there were a lot of great people who submitted for it, so to be recognized is a huge honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
