It\u2019s a big day and weekend for the School of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts<\/a>, with free events by the Dance Science<\/a>, Performance Studies<\/a> and Visualization<\/a> programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Viz-a-GoGo 31<\/a> continues with the art exhibition at Rudder Exhibit Hall. And the interactive\/gaming showcase is open in the same location from 2 to 4 p.m., featuring video games and demos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n First Friday in Downtown Bryan will feature performances by students<\/a> including the Chamber Music ensembles and pop\/rock\/jazz ensemble Rare Couch from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Grand Stafford Theater, 106 S. Main St. The steelband \u2014 made up of Maroon Steel and Small Ensembles students \u2014 will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in front of the Carnegie History Center, 111 S. Main St. Percussion group Brazilian Carnival Ensemble will perform with the steelband on two of the pieces. In case of rain, the performance will take place at Grand Stafford Theater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cJourney to Hope,\u201d<\/a> a story of immigration through modern dance, will be performed by Dance Science students with free showings at 6 and 8 p.m. The audience will see sections of the work in multiple locations: across the courtyard and inside classrooms and the Black Box Theater in the Liberal Arts and Arts and Humanities Building. At the courtyard, the dancers will perform in a pool that represents a large body of water that immigrants would have crossed during their travels. Meet at the Black Box Theater prior to the show.
