Two of them, Jon Reisch \u201902, and Jose Luis \u201cWeecho\u201d Velasquez \u201810, were nominated for awards for their work by the Visual Effects Society, a global professional group that represents the full breadth of visual effects practitioners.<br><br>Reisch is a nominee for Outstanding Visual Effects in an Animated Feature, &#8220;Luca&#8221;, while Velasquez earned an Outstanding Animated Character in an Animated Feature nomination for his work creating &#8220;Encanto&#8221;\u2019s memorable main character, Mirabel Madrigal.<br><br>The awards are scheduled to be announced March 8.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jon Reisch \u201902, and Jose Luis \u201cWeecho\u201d Velasquez \u201810, were nominated for awards by the Visual Effects Society for their work on &#8220;Luca,&#8221;
