Internships hone students’ skills and prepare them to start their careers. With an internship, you’ll gain valuable experience working alongside visualization career professionals. Our student interns have applied their academic experience to various concentrations in visualization, including:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n As a visualization student, finding an internship is your responsibility. The internship program coordinator, department faculty, and <\/span>career center<\/span><\/a> can provide valuable resources regarding the internship search process, including contacts with specific individuals and organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our internship program is a supervised course that spans 15 weeks and 600 hours. Students will receive a maximum of 6 credit hours for successfully completing their internship. Documentation of a completed internship is gathered through:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n No other courses may be taken for credit during the internship period away from the Texas A&M University campus.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n To qualify for an internship you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students must submit an individual internship agreement form at least 15 days before the semester begins in order to register for VIST 494.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All forms must be completed and signed by the student, the employer, and the internship coordinator before an internship is approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your internships must be paid in order for you to earn credit. Compensation for an internship will be handled by the organization you are interning for. The exact amount of compensation is agreed upon between you and the company, but should be at least minimum wage.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n To get credit for your internship, you must submit a detailed portfolio that describes your internship experience and the Internship Completion Form. Your internship portfolio and the Internship Completion Form must be submitted to your instructor by 5 p.m. on the last day of classes for the semester in which you completed the internship.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Your portfolio should be no longer than 10 pages, and feature key takeaways from your internship, including:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tInternship Agreement Form\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tInternship Completion Form\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\n\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Internships hone students’ skills and prepare them to start their careers.
