Application Details
Undergraduate or graduate students within the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts who are presenting, engaging or traveling with an academic program and its faculty to survey and expand on education related to the field of study, or assisting faculty in research are eligible.
A research presentation, artwork or essay on the interest area of study intended for a conference or program should be submitted and accepted to that conference or program prior to application submission. Awarded funds will only become available once presentation acceptance has been confirmed. Funds may be used for airfare, hotel, registration fees and/or transportation to and from the airport/hotel. Funds may not be used for tuition. You’ll be informed to make the necessary travel arrangements and later reimbursed via direct deposit for the purchases.
The Research Travel Scholarship requires two essays to submit: one full page Cover Essay before your travels, and one full page Outcome Essay after your travels. The Cover Essay must include the description of your research, progress and plans; the purpose and benefit; links to costs; and how these funds will assist you on your research journey. The Cover Essay must be submitted along with your initial scholarship application.
An Outcome Essay must be submitted to the scholarship coordinator at pvfascholarships@tamu.edu, no later than 30 days after the last day of travel. Both the Cover Essay and Outcome Essay should each be a minimum of one typed full page that follows an APA or MLA style of format. The Outcome Essay should be about what the research, presentation or educational learning outcomes meant to you and how it academically impacted you.
