“Crescendo,” the second-annual showcase for the Music program, will feature eight concerts the week of April 7-11.
More than 100 students in music courses will perform in the Black Box Theater in the Liberal Arts and Arts and Humanities Building over the course of the week. The April 11 event will be at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum Rotunda.
The styles range from traditional solo and ensembles to interarts, open-mic and emerging areas in music technology, according to Andrea Edwards, M.M., academic program director for Music Performance and instructional assistant professor.
“Excellence in performance and depth of inquiry continues to grow every semester, with vibrant, unique performances being developed as a result,” she said. “This combines with the collaborative spirit — a core component of the college — as musicians work together, collaborate with other programs such as Visualization, and explore the creative possibilities of digital- and AI-driven performance.”
