Voices That Innovate Speaker Series Highlights Virtual Production at Kimbell Art Museum In Fort Worth

Virtual production starred in the inaugural event in the Voices That Innovate Speaker Series, presented by PNC Bank with Texas A&M-Fort Worth.
Tim McLaughlin, dean of the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts and director of the Virtual Production Institute, moderated “The Business and Creative Impact of Virtual Production” on Feb. 24 at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. The discussion explored content creation, the workforce pipeline and economic development around virtual production.
McLaughlin was joined by Bruce Tartaglia, principal engineer, rendering and graphics, Meta; Stephanie Whallon, director, Texas Film Commission, Office of the Governor; Jaime Raffone, senior manager, cinematic production and virtual production, Sony Electronics Professional Solutions Americas; and Jim Mainard, technology executive, innovator and entrepreneur.
The Virtual Production Institute is part of the Texas A&M-Fort Worth campus with two virtual production stages, and at main campus in College Station. A stage opened at the Langford Architecture Center, Building A, in the fall. A fourth stage is planned for a location to be announced in Bryan-College Station.
