Prospective students got an inside look at the Texas A&M Theatre Program on Feb. 27. The inaugural Day of Theatre brought high school students to campus to participate in masterclasses led by faculty members in design, improvisation, devising and playwriting.
Rayna Middleton Dexter, M.F.A., academic program director and instructional associate professor, shared her excitement for the inaugural event.
“These prospective students get to really understand what it’s like to be a Theatre major at Texas A&M,” she said. “I hope they all take away an understanding of devising, and see the friendly and open community we have built in our program.”
Current Theatre students performed several works in the Black Box Theater in the Liberal Arts and Arts & Humanities Building. Students were also able to audition for acceptance into the program.
