‘Perpetual Motion’ Presents Eight Works Choreographed By Dance Faculty
The works were choreographed by faculty members Carisa Armstrong, Christine Bergeron, Diane Bedford, John Cartwright, Abby Williams Chin, Everett Perry-Johnson, Carolyn Pampalone Rabbers, Andee Scott and Margaret Wiss.

Eight works choreographed by Dance Science faculty were featured during the 18th annual “Perpetual Motion” showcase Feb. 19-21 at the Black Box Theater, Room 207, in the Physical Education Activity Program Building.
The works were choreographed by faculty members Carisa Armstrong, Christine Bergeron, Diane Bedford, John Cartwright, Abby Williams Chin, Everett Perry-Johnson, Carolyn Pampalone Rabbers, Andee Scott and Margaret Wiss.
Chin, M.F.A., lecturer and contributing choreographer for the event, said faculty presented works with their own “unique movement signatures, many reflecting a contemporary modern lens.”
The following pieces were performed:
Act I
- “In Praise of Shadows,” choreographed by Carolyn Pampalone Rabbers in collaboration with dancers. Performed by Gillian Brown, Morgan Hildum, Callie Ratliff, Kyndal Stimson, Sunnie Swenson, Rachel Wilde and Ayla Justus. Visuals designed by John Boran. - “the edge of it redux,” choreographed by Andee Scott. Performed by Riley Emler and Melanie Wills. Projection and costumes designed by Andee Scott.
- “Edge of the precipice…,” choreographed by Diane Bedford. Performed by Maria Arias, Mackenzie Copfer, Sophie Jordan, Mallory Mai, Katherine Oliver, Grace Rogers and Emma Turner. Lighting designed by Jam Martinez. Costumes designed by D’Mya Tabron.
- “Probability: the time and heat of black holes as people,” choreographed by John Cartwright in collaboration with performers. Performed by Ana-Lucia Arrow, Kambree Beavers, Elizabeth Jackson, Olivia Leedy, Avery Scroggins, Kyndal Stimson and Kiko Young. Lighting designed by Jam Martinez. Costumes designed by D’Mya Tabron.
Act II
- “ode,” choreographed by Margaret Wiss in collaboration with the dancers. Performed by Grace Bauch, Sebastian Campo, Grant McGee and Allie Phillips. Lighting designed by Jam Martinez and Margaret Wiss. Costumes designed by Hollis Hammonds, Austin Warren Coats, D’Mya Tabron and Margaret Wiss.
- “Driven by Hope,” choreographed by Carisa Armstrong and Christine Bergeron in collaboration with dancers. Performed by Arabela Alvarado, Natalia Castillo, Brook Dryden, Analise (Ana) Garcia, Tori Kuchera, Grant McGee, Kayla Mercado, Madison Perez, Viktoria Pomposhova, Callie Ratliff, Xochitl Rodriguez and Macey Vasquez. Lighting designed by Jam Martinez in collaboration with choreographers.
- “Are we There yet?,” choreographed by Abby Williams Chin. Performed by Ivy Bryant, Riley Emler, Courtney Hejnicki, Sarah Hymer and Gianna Zarate. Lighting designed by Jam Martinez. Costumes designed by D’Mya Tabron.
- “FLORES DEL DESIERTO,” choreographed by Everett Perry-Johnson. Performed by Ana-Lucia Arrow, Rylee Burns, Nathalya Carlon, Natalia Castillo Franco, Akyra Harper, Olivia Leedy, Katherine Oliver, Kayla Payton, Xochitl Rodriguez, Avery Scroggins, Kyndal Stimson, Isabelle Troncoso, Macey Vasquez, Kiko Young and Gianna Zarate.
