Game industry experts bring career advice to students

The Game Dev. Industry Panel brought three experts to campus Oct. 24 to speak with students in the School of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts.

Manuel Delgado, chief marketing officer of Six Foot Games; Sean Tracy, senior tech and tools director at Cloud Imperium Games; and Jamey Moulton, senior VFX artist at ILMxLAB shared their insights with students at Langford C.

Career advice was a primary topic, said Mayet Andreassen, associate program director in visualization, including ways for students to get into the gaming industry, the importance of networking, navigating the professional world and making a portfolio to help get prospective employers’ attention.

“We had an engaging and informative Game Dev. Industry Panel, with both students and industry panel participants having a great time speaking, learning and interacting with one another,” Andreassen said.
